Washington DC Science Policy Trip, December 10th - 14th

Applications Available Now | Due October 24th

Join us for an exploration into Science Policy in the nation's capital! Our five day trip includes lodging and most meals; flights – if you choose; educational discussion sessions, and of course the opportunity to see Washington DC landmarks like the White House, the Memorials; Smithsonian Museums; the National Archives; and the Capital.  Discussion sessions include those who have played a role in setting and implementing science policy for the United States including: Academics, Lobbyists, Scientists, Politicians, and Caltech Alumni.

Fall Friends Dinner With Professor Yu-Chong Tai

Join us on Thursday, November 16th for our Fall Friends Dinner with Professor Yu-Chong Tai - the Anne L. Rosen Professor of Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and the Andrew and Peggy Cherng Engineering Leadership Chair and Executive Officer. Professor Tai will describe MedE’s unique approach to translational, or “bench-to-bedside,” medicine. This includes building a culture of collaboration between different academic departments, establishing strong external connections to the medical community, and taking advantage of Caltech’s commitment to basic science as a stepping stone to finding fresh avenues to developing diagnostic tools, medical devices, and treatment options to translational medicine.

Rise Tutoring Program

Applications Available Now

The Rise Program is a low-cost afterschool math and science-focused tutoring program that serves public school students between grades 8 and 12. The tutoring takes place on the Caltech campus Monday-Thursday from 4pm-6pm. The tutoring is provided by Caltech undergraduate and graduate students. The program is designed to help students gain greater competency in math foundations, improve skills in math and science and prepare students for college-level math and science.  For more information and the application go to:
